Bohol is 10th largest island of the Philippines and can be reached with 1½ hour flight from Manila or 1½ hour ferry from Cebu.

The province is a popular tourist destination because of the tropical haven of natural beauty and the coastline of the province, skimmed by gentle coves and white sand beaches. The Chocolate Hills, all of 1,268 perfectly cone-shaped hills, are undoubtedly the most famous tourist attraction in the province. It is the country’s 3rd National Geological Monument and proposed for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Another tourist watch out is the Tarsier. It is one of the rare faunas found in the Philippine archipelago. The smallest primate in the world is nocturnal, measuring from 4 to 5 inches, with a tail that is longer than its body, unusually huge eyes that must have inspired Steven Spielberg’s ET. Those interested in Tarsier watching are always welcomed by the ‘Boholanos’. In its natural abode up the hills in the town of Corella, tourists will surely enjoy the visit.

Bohol also offers diving locations. The island of Panglao, located just southwest of Tagbilaran City, is famous for its diving locations, where you can find some of the country’s great dive sights. Balicasag in Bohol is one of the very best and most popular dives in the Visayas.

Scenic Bohol casts a spell on visitors drawn to this ovalshaped island – from the Chocolate Hills to the Tarsier, from 16th century watchtowers to Baroque Jesuit
mission churches, from the Loboc River to Tagbilaran City itself. Add to these are palm-fringed coastlines that are blessed with a myriad of white sand beaches and
sheltering coves. And of course, the ever-smiling, ever-friendly Boholano!.
